Access Statement

Introduction

  • Craiglands is a six bedroom detached Victorian period building (built Circa 1890). 
  • All bedrooms are accessed by stairs and their there is no lift in the building.

Transport

  • Bus Stop outside the premises
  • 1 mile to town centre – buses every 10 minutess
  • Alliance Taxis Augusta Street, Llandudno Railway Station,
    Llandudno LL30 2AF (Highly recommended for Wheelchairs or
    people with a disability) 01492 878787

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

  • The contact telephone number is displayed on the large sign in the garden
  • The front door is kept locked at all times but access can be gained
    by ringing a clearly visible front door bell
  • There is someone available to assist from car or taxi with
    luggage by prior arrangement
  • The surface is fairly flat, the front visitors garden is gravel, there are
    two steps up to the main door from the path

Main Entrance, Reception

  • Seating is available in entrance area
  • We can give a tour of the dining area, lounge and facilities upon arrival
  • The main entrance door is single width
  • There is someone on the premises most of the time – when no one
    available  a sign is clearly displayed showing an emergency telephone
    number
  • There are two doors off the entrance hallway, one leads to the
    residents lounge and the other one in to the dining room – both are
    kept open during the day, they are closed at night as they are fire
    doors

Public Areas – Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc

  • The entrance hall is tiled.
  • The stairs lead off from the entrance hall.  There is dado rail painted
    white, with white skirting.  The paper below the dado is painted in a
    much darker colour than the patterned paper above the dado.
  • There is no lift and there are 12 stairs leading up to a small landing
    and then either 3 steps to room 2 or 6 steps to the next landing,
    there are also more steps up to the 2nd floor.
  • We do not have any guest toilets other than the ones in bedrooms

Public Areas – Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc

  • The lounge has a five light central light and wall lights.
  • The dining room has a centre light with 5 lights
    and also wall lights. 
  • The entrance hall has a centre light with 5
    lights. 
  • There is timed lighting outside the guest house, in the entrance hall and
    stairways.

Dining Room

  • Staff help is available at any time to assist with cereal choice and breakfast
    choice.  We have a vegetarian option and we are willing to cater for
    any dietary requirements if given prior notice.

Outdoor Facilities

  • Outdoor seating benches are available – the ground is gravel.
